Advanced certificate grants full privileges: higher power (1000+ watts), building/modifying transmitters, operating repeaters/remote stations, and sponsoring clubs. Basic requires 70% to pass; 80%+ gives \"Honours\" (access to some lower HF frequencies)

Deploy an AREDN node that is connected to the main system, or add a node that is connected to the main system using RF or tunnelling. Do a presentation on AREDN to a group of 30 or more.

This is a tough one. You must operate your mobile or HF radio (no hand helds) for a period of no less that 12 hours continously only using solar and batteries. In addition your battery system can not be an off the shelf unit, but must be pieced together and should include gauges to measure input and output as well as power usage. Lastly your solar panel can not be larger than 160W. Did I say tough or nearly impossible.

Given to an individual who has been a major contributing part of a successful launch of a balloon with a transmitter on it. This would involve design, tracking, development, research, promotion & management.
