For those HAMs who use the military tent poles as antenna masts. I assembled a piece of 1 1/2 inch ABS with a cap as a top for any one of the mast sections. It has an attached 'eye' and pulley, and it swivels 360 degrees around the top of the mast section for omni-directional antenna alignment. The cap is glued to the pipe section, the 'eye' is counter-sunk slightly into the pipe (on the vertical) to stop it rotating from vertical. The pulley is large enough to accept a para cord size rope or guy, yet small enough to lie easily against the mast. Also, although not as good as a metal plate insert to any of the mast joints, the 3 cable end re-enforcers held onto the mast with a pipe clamp is a workable short term alternative. Short cords with loops on the hanging ends are permanent and varying length guys can be attached, depending on the number of mast sections in use. Hope this helps. Cheers ... John, VE3PUH/VE3RZS.

It looks like a simple and low cost option. I saw it in action easy to operate.
