There has been a recent interest in testing FLDigi working on both HF and VHF connections.

 

Some big wins have been made and also some things we need to work through, such as getting clear communication between North end of York Region to the South end without using repeaters.

 

We have a large mountain area that is high enough to curtail most direct communications using line of sight, so further to this testing is the need for other technologies, such as NVIS antenna building.

 

We will use other technologies to keep track of what we are testing next and what frequency using Skype (trying not to abuse the use of the local repeaters).

 

So far the schedule seems to be 7:30PM on a Monday evening. We will make a post on facebook for the next set of trials. One of our members has prepared a set of notes on setting up FLDigi.
